Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise and oversee accounting functions as they relate to Accounts Payable processes
• Manage and direct the daily operations of the department
• Perform regular analyses to ensure efficient vendor payment processing while optimizing vendor relationships
• Maintain payables-related processes in compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and accounting best practices
• Analyze, resolve, and respond to inquiries presented by internal and external customers promptly
• Collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to verify, reconcile, and process purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Management and oversight of effective monthly vendor statement reconciliations
• Corporate card program administration
• Maximize working capital through leveraging discounted term opportunities
• Collaborate with senior management on department reporting and new process implementations
• W-9 and 1099 Management
• Safeguard company assets through strict internal controls implementation and compliance
• Provide departmental operational analyses and feedback for improved efficiencies
• Lead weekly ACH vendor payment process
• Lead check payment and Positive Pay fraud protection process
• Prepare month-end close entries on Accounts Payables
• Reconciliation of payables-related balance sheet accounts
• Preparation and management of payables-related balance sheet schedules
• Execute and report on departmental KPI’s
• Develop, train, and oversee a strong, successful payables team
• Assist in annual audit duties related to payables functions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of progressive work experience in a product-based environment
• 2-3 years of management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred
• Demonstrates leadership skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail & accuracy
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
• Strong critical and strategic thinking
• Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Perform accurately in a fast-paced, goal-based environment, and ability to adapt to a growing business
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
