Art Institute of Chicago is Hiring a Senior Compensation Analyst Near Chicago, IL

This is a temp to hire position and has the flexibility to work a hybrid or remote schedule

The Compensation Analyst researches, analyzes, and administers compensation programs. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assesses job descriptions to determine the appropriate FLSA classification as exempt or nonexempt.
  • Benchmarks jobs against internal roles, survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position (using geographical and national data).
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Work directly with HR and leaders in compensation administration of current compensation (i.e. offers, transfers, promotions, etc.)
  • Gather data from market-based compensation surveys.
  • Prepare internal data for participation in market surveys, including matching survey positions to internal positions.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses.
  • Prepare and present data using spreadsheets and data analysis techniques.
  • Evaluates and implements job/salary analysis instruments and materials.
  • Conducts ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices and makes proposals to optimize pay systems to invest in the segments of workforce that contribute the most value.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Carries out analytical assignments involving the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical expertise of compensation and related components (e.g. legal and regulatory requirements).
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research and analytical methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or similar software.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to independently research problem areas, facilitate meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Ability to take initiative without established guidelines and procedures using independent judgment. 
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with collecting, analyzing, reporting and presenting data.
  • Experience applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision making and outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or data analytics or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Five years of experience as a compensation analyst is preferred.
