The DREAM program is a collaborative between the UNC School of Education and Durham Public Schools and is a million grant funded by the US Department of Education, Effective Educator Development Division under a Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) Program.
The DREAM grant seeks to recruit, educate, and train diverse teachers for teaching service in Durham Public Schools, and provides funding support to each DREAM resident.
The DREAM Program Assistant will assist in the implementation of the DREAM grant through regular meeting attendance and note-taking;
creation and organization of documents; data collection; playing a key role in communications and social media management.
Having a teamwork mentality and detail-oriented approach are essential to this position.
Most meetings occur after regular business hours due to the participants’ teaching and coursework schedules. Conferences also happen during weekend hours when administrative support is needed.
It is critical that the person hired into this position will need to be available to provide support during these times.
Additionally, this is a time-limited position that ends on 9 / / 5 when the grant funding ends Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience;
