About The JobAs an Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of fostering a positive workplace culture, resolving employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. You’ll be a compass guiding our workforce through the ever-changing seas of collaboration, communication, and camaraderie. You won’t just be an HR professional; you’ll be a bridge builder, a problem solver, and a trusted confidant. Occasionally, you will be responsible for supporting the HR Business Partner team. The ability to deal with ambiguity, be curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable are integral to this role. Buckle up—we’re about to embark on an adventure!
In This Role You Will
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding employee relations issues, concerns, and inquiries
  • Conduct in-take meetings for employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues, ensuring fair and timely resolution in accordance with SAS values and SAS policies
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance management, including coaching, counseling, and corrective action planning
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and other stakeholders to develop and implement employee relations programs, policies, and procedures to promote a positive culture and enhance employee engagement
  • Collect and analyze data to proactively identify trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risks and improve employee relations.
  • Provide training and guidance for managers and employees on topics related to employee relations, conflict resolution,
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records and documentation in compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Stay abreast on changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure SAS policies and practices remain compliant with current legal requirements
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in Human Resources or employee relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution with strong mediation skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust and credibility with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Detail-orientation with strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability manage multiple priorities
  • General knowledge in HR practices and processes and with an understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • To thrive in this role, you must be able to deal with ambiguity, be curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR, SPHR, and/or master’s degree.
  • Proven experience conducting thorough and objective investigations into employee relations issue and recommending appropriate resolutions
  • Experience mediating disputes and finding win-win outcomes.
  • Previous experience as a HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
  • Previous experience working in a technology organization.
