Position Overview:
The Cytologist will play a key role in our diagnostic team, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to provide accurate and timely evaluations of cellular samples. With a strong emphasis on technology, this role will involve extensive use of our advanced Hologic system and AP Easy Laboratory Information System (LIS) for specimen analysis, data management, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform microscopic evaluations of cellular samples for the diagnosis and screening of various diseases, including cancer.
Utilize the Hologic system for advanced cytological evaluations, ensuring the most accurate and reliable results.
Input, manage, and retrieve data using the AP Easy LIS to ensure secure, accurate, and efficient handling of patient information.
Develop and validate new protocols and methodologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cytological examinations, in conjunction with the Hologic system.
Work collaboratively with pathologists, medical technologists, and other healthcare providers for optimal patient care.
Comply with quality control protocols and participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
Train and mentor junior staff on cytological procedures and technology platforms.
Stay current on technology trends, advancements, and best practices in the field of cytology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Cytology, Medical Technology, or related field.
ASCP certification or equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cytologist.
Proficient in using advanced cytological technology, including Hologic systems and Laboratory Information Systems like AP Easy.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to troubleshoot system issues and maintain equipment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
