We are seeking an attentive and knowledgeable Director of Nursing (DON) who will ensure the nursing department provides consistent, attentive, and efficient care to our patients. With a proactive and hands-on approach, the DON will execute and follow state regulations stemming from prior knowledge, strong clinical management, leadership and team building skills.
Director of Nursing applicant: The ideal candidate joins us with a minimum of 2 years experiences as a DON or ADON in a Long-Term Care facility. In addition to experience, we are looking for a candidate who will:
· Lead daily operations for the nursing department, ensuring all nursing personnel are performing productively and efficiently at all times
· Set and track departmental standards and goals
· Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
· Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff ensuring a strong team
· Communicate effectively and have strong written and verbal communication skills
· Set the nursing schedule
· Provide direct patient care when necessary
· Investigate and utilize plan of action for patient complaints
· Collaborate with physicians and administrators cross functionally
· Oversee the department’s budget
· Design and manage continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
· Develop strong relationships with patients and their families and has an excellent bedside manner
· Use popular software, including medical database, research, diagnosis, billing, scheduling, and telemedicine software
· Work calmly in high-pressure situations

Education and Experience Requirements:
· A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required
· A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is strongly preferred
· At least 2 years of management experience in Long-Term Care preferred
· Must have an active registered nurse (RN) or nurse practitioner (NP) license in New Jersey
