DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated HR Generalist. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in leave management, particularly in handling FMLA and PFML cases, and will be well-versed in on-the-job injury (OTJI) experience. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leave Management:
  • Administer and manage leave programs, including FMLA and PFML.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Handle employee inquiries and resolve issues related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations and manage employee relations issues as needed.
  • On-the-Job Injury (OTJI) Management:
  • Oversee and manage OTJI cases, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with employees, medical professionals, and insurance carriers regarding OTJI cases.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Compliance and Policy Implementation:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Performance Management:
  • Support managers in the performance review process, providing guidance and assistance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing employee development programs.
  • HR Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Generate HR reports and metrics as needed.
  • Assist in various HR projects and initiatives.
RequirementsMust-Have Skills:
  • Extensive experience with leave management, including FMLA and PFML.
  • Proficiency in handling on-the-job injury (OTJI) cases.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) is required.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
