The Archdiocese of Hartford has an opening for a full-time Benefits Specialist who will join the Human Resources Department. This role will administer of all of the benefit and retirement programs, in addition to some core employee life cycle/HR duties. This position will work closely with our parishes, schools, offices, and corporations within the Archdiocese of Hartford, as well as our affiliates, which we serve.
Benefit programs will include group medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life, disability, 403b plan, voluntary benefits, EAP, and defined benefit pension plans for clergy and lay employees.
Requirements:
· An associate degree in a Human Resources-related field
· 2 years’ experience with employee benefit plans, pension plans, and applicable laws
· 2 years’ experience in HR and employee relations
· Strong knowledge and skills with HRIS and Microsoft Office is required
· Knowledge of Healthcare Reform and Medicare
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Detail oriented
· Requires strong customer service
