ISI Professional Services is Hiring a Construction Project Manager Near Beltsville, MD

Job DescriptionPosition Summary: ISI is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to the Buereau of Engraving & Printing client. The Project Manager will support the client looking to manage a $100M construction projects. The Project Manager will provide a wide range of construction management support services to liase the project between the Federal client and their construction management agent. The position will support more senior government project managers and fellow contractor project managers, who will work as part of a larger construction program. The ability to lead and work as a team and independently is critical. ISI is seeking an individual who will be a clear communicator, take initiative, and embrace project ownership.
Experience And Responsibilities
  • Proven experience in managing complex, new construction or major renovation commercial building projects, and experience in managing simultaneous construction and/or building projects.
  • Ability to work independently or in groups and in a stressful environment.
  • Experience interfacing with GSA Public Building Services, A&E firms, construction contractors and trades, and building suppliers.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of construction methodology.
  • Experience developing government project cost estimates and tracking of project costs.
  • Ability to develop project schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera.
  • Ability to direct facility construction activities and lead construction progress meetings.
  • Experience on commercial projects that included a large percentage of systems furniture.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Subject Matter Expert/s (SME) to conduct needs analysis, develop project requirements/objectives, and design preliminary space plans.
  • Proven experience in written and verbal communications. Highly skilled in detail- oriented documentation, with significant abilities in communicating with Government Project Managers, SME, and development team members in tactful manner, as well as providing written feedback to Government Project Manager and clients.
  • Proven experience coordinating a project management team and providing appropriate levels of support, coaching and influence.
  • Significant, proven experience as a member of a team and a team leader; positive interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation, particularly with clients from a wide variety of business cultures.
  • Proactively assists the Government in conducting site evaluations, field surveys, and site visits to determine constructability and code compliance. Develops draft scopes of work and validation requirements and participates in pre-bid conferences.
  • Proactively supports the Government’s development of technical requirements, scopes of work, cost estimate analysis, and schedules for A/E services, including studies, reports, and drawings review.
  • Proactively supports the Government’s tracking of construction progress, submittals, permit applications, file organization, and invoicing as part of a larger team.
  • Independently schedules, leads, and participates in weekly project progress and monthly program progress meetings to evaluate schedule progress, identify departures from the accepted baseline schedule, and assess the risk to long-term project and program health.
  • Maintains construction administration data in Excel, web-based software, and files to be aggregated and used as metrics and briefing tools for senior leadership.
  • Develops and tracks the progress of project lifecycle milestone schedules and Government activities to ensure timely delivery of the Government construction program. Assesses schedule risk and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Prepares and presents project status briefings regularly, develops and maintains performance matrixes, and prepares well-written technical reports. Prepares written and oral reports for government leadership and program managers. Regularly briefs senior leadership.
Preferred: USACE experience. Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, building construction, or construction management (civil, mechanical, electrical, or architectural).
  • Minimum of six years specialized experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must hold a current Secret clearance.

Work Setting/Environment/Travel Requirements:
  • Monday through Friday, Normal business hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Hybrid work schedule. Approximately 3 days at the work site at Beltsville, MD 20705.
