JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Human Resources Coordinator
LOCATION: Red Cliff Tribal Administration Office
SALARY: Negotiable
SUPERVISOR(S): Human Resources Director
THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON EXEMPT POSITION
JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a diverse range of functions in support of the Human Resource Department with the emphasis on human resource systems and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enters information into the appropriate system related to new hires, terminated employees, salary adjustments, comp time or other employee information.
2. Interpret and explain Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standard, or regulation.
3. Prepare appropriate employee related paperwork.
4. Assist with processing payroll.
5. Review employment applications using job description requirements.
6. Assists with managing all Human Resource Department files and assists with the accurate filing of all Human Resources and employee information.
7. Assists in the hiring process, which includes informing individuals of openings, posting on various websites, etc.
8. Assist the Employee Benefits Specialist when needed.

The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None
KNOWLEDGE: Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft software, Word, Excel and other related software. Have knowledge of office practices and procedures. Have basic knowledge of Human Resource Management and practices. Must have knowledge in principles and procedures for personnel recruitment. Be knowledgeable of Native American Tribes and the uniqueness of the Red Cliff Community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A high school diploma, HSED or GED is required.
2. An associate degree in human resources or related field; preferred
3. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in human resources or related field is required.
4. Must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management, and prioritizing and data entry skills.
5. Must be able to handle multiple activities simultaneously and utilize confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.
6. Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with Human Resource Director, Tribal Management, staff, community members, and various agencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Primarily office position that may require bending, lifting and reaching. May need to lift up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: All tribal buildings are smoke free.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Will be required to attend training and meetings both in state and out of state. Attend Tribal Council meetings as directed.

Indian preference will be applied in the case of equally qualified applicants, but all qualified applicants will be considered.
