We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team of accounting professionals. This role provides accounting support and promotes a positive friendly atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess their associate degree in accounting along with 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Strong communication skills, computer proficiency and the ability to work independently and as a team member is a must.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Verify accuracy of invoices prior to payment.
• Process invoices in preparation of payment.
• Process check requests & other methods of payment for vendors.
• Credit Card Reconciliation.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax. 
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company. policy and accepted accounting principles.
• Knowledge of fixed assets & prepaid expenses.
• Reconcile vendor statements & respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors.
• Assist with month end closing and reporting procedures. 
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Opening and distributing department mail.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting and 1-3 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
• Organized & Self-Starter.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
