The Bakersfield Californian is Hiring a Customer Service Representative Near Bakersfield, CA

THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN is looking for a Customer Services Representative. The position is responsible for communicating with customers representing the best interests of The Bakersfield Californian. Provide quality customer service support to subscribers of The Bakersfield Californian

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

 Provide quality customer service to subscribers, nonsubscribers, vendors, and carriers of The Bakersfield

Californian including The Tehachapi News and niche products.

 Be knowledgeable of special offers, incentives, and other programs being used by vendors to promote

new starts.

 Provide immediate attention and follow-up on service calls and emails. Communicate in an efficient and

courteous manner.

 Be knowledgeable of and promote ez pay program, special offers, incentives, newspaper features, and

benefits.

 Perform billing changes, payments, subscriber record changes, and other clerical tasks related to

circulation subscriber inquiries, in an accurate and timely manner.

 Monthly delivery of magazines to local businesses in personal vehicle

 Daily mail drop off in personal vehicle

Additional duties:

 Support Circulation Department with clerical duties as needed.

 Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS, COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

 High School Diploma or equivalent

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office

 25 wpm typing skills and the ability to use 10-key

 Must be able to multi-task

 Valid License, Registration and Insurance

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS, COMPETENCIES PREFERRED:

 Minimum one-year Customer Service and/or call center experience preferred
