Are you an experienced contracts professional with a passion for government contracts and a drive for innovation? We invite you to join our dynamic legal team as a Contracts Manager. Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be a key contributor to our fast-paced technology company, where your expertise will shape the course of government contract initiatives and contribute to our global impact. Key Responsibilities:

  • Government Contract Strategy and Execution: lead the formation of new government contracts and the expansion of existing ones. Leverage your in-depth understanding of federal acquisition strategy and procedures to support capture, implementation and growth of contracts.
  • Relationship Management: cultivate and manage professional relationships with government contracting officers and their representatives.
  • Acquisition Lifecycle Oversight and Management: provide advice throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including evaluating opportunities, proposal development, negotiations, execution, and dispute resolution.
  • Holistic Support: participate in other projects as needed and contribute to the areas where you have unique skills.
  • Business Strategy and Innovation: collaborate across departments to enable business strategy and promote innovation.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: analyze and assess risks associated with Umbra’s contracts and business operations. Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies while enabling business growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: stay abreast of evolving regulatory frameworks and industry standards, ensuring our practices align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: maintain meticulous records, contracts, and documentation related to contracts and compliance efforts.
  • Policy Development: collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective contract-related policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of contracts management experience.
  • Experience in a law firm and/or established government contractor setting.
  • TS/SCI security clearance, read-in within the past two years.
  • Direct experience with government intelligence community within the past two years.
  • Willingness to visit customers throughout the National Capital Region.
  • Communicate with clarity and influence, fostering productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
  • Resilience, resourcefulness, and the ability to make decisions with imperfect information.
  • Enjoy utilizing technology to increase efficiency.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and seek innovative solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, taking ownership of multiple projects and guiding teams through complex challenges.
  •  Intellectual curiosity and desire for continuous growth and improvement.
  • Desire to advance in seniority and train junior staff.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle and vendor management systems.
  • Eagerness to wear many hats and desire to expand beyond your core function.
  • Engineering or other technology experience.
  • NCMA Certifications, including CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM.
  • Have grit and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with Cost Accounting Standards and administration.
