Our practice is currently seeking a full-time Medical Records Specialist to join our team!
This role is responsible for scanning and indexing health information within the electronic medical record.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
1. Prepares and processes medical information for scanning into the electronic medical record :
MRN, Patient Name, SSN)
Returns any questionable (i.e. missing identifiers, illegible documents) documents to the Medical Records Manager for review and correction
2. Scans medical information into the electronic medical record :
3. Communicates with the Medical Records Team.
Education : High school diploma / GED, medical records certificate preferred but not required
Experience : 1 year in medical office setting
Physical Demands : Mostly sedentary duty. 10 pounds, maximum lifting, occasional lift / carry of small articles. Some standing, walking, reaching.
