Development Manager
BASIC FUNCTION:
Working with the Executive Director, the Development Manager works with other development team members to manage the Akron Civic Theatre’s $850,000 contributed revenue program. The focus of the Development Manager’s work is primarily managing individual giving & memberships, and foundations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversee the theater’s Individual Giving program including recruitment and retention of donors using donor-centric cultivation, solicitation, updates, benefits, and events.
•Draft thank you letters, updates, solicitation letters/e-mails, and campaign materials.
•Serve as the point of contact for concierge ticket service and other benefits for donors at various levels of giving.
•Working with the Executive Director and other development team members, arrange meetings with donors and prospects for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
•Working with other development team members, consistently input donations and memberships in the E-Tapestry system and document key conversations and other pertinent donor information in the database.
•Develop a strong working knowledge of database to run appropriate reports and analysis.
•Develop and distribute membership and donor fulfillment packages.
•Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience working in a not-for-profit development office with proven success in donor solicitation and giving.
•Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills, including organizational skills to meet goals and objectives through effective program and project planning.
•Ability to work independently and confidentially, and be able to interact with donors, members, and staff professionally.
•Ability to initiate and organize work, establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality control.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and donor software, and an openness to embracing new technology.
COMPENSATION:
•Full-time, salary position with benefit package
