Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Developer to join our team. The primary objective of the Commercial Maintenance Business Developer is to develop NEW business for the company. The Commercial Maintenance Business Developer must be familiar with all aspects of commercial landscape maintenance to include sales, production, customer service, estimating, etc. The Commercial Maintenance Business Developer oversees all initial interaction with the customers and keeps them informed as to all aspects of the maintenance proposal process. The Commercial Maintenance Business Developer makes the initial contact with the client, prepares, and presents the proposal documents, completes the sale, interfaces with company production and accounting personnel, and interfaces with subcontractors and vendors as required throughout the first three months of the maintenance contract.

Responsibilities:
A. Sells $500,000 to $1,000,000 of commercial projects annually.

B. Attends client meetings (homeowner’s association (HOA), board of directors’ (BOD) meetings, etc.).

C. Attends professional association meetings such as Building Owners and Managers Association, Intl. (BOMA).

D. Makes the initial contact with client and takes all required measurements.

E. Ensures that vendor pricing is competitive and accurate.

F. Prepares all proposals/bids.

G. Reviews all bids with General Manager/Owner for accuracy and marketability.

H. Makes effective presentations and presents all proposals/documents to client.

I. Closes sale and coordinates job specifics with accounting personnel.

J. Coordinates job specifics with production personnel.

K. Interfaces with client and ensures that all of client’s concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

L. Interfaces with company Account Manager for first three months of contract to ensure client’s expectations are met and that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.

M. Ensures that vendor invoice pricing is accurate and as bid.

N. Ensures that job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated.

O. Maintains Bid Board and tracks sales process.

P. Prepares the Monthly Audit Data (M.A.D.) report and submits to GM or owner.

Q. Maintains and updates CRM software on a daily basis re: deadlines, meetings, notes, points of contact, phone conversations, etc.

R. Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

S. Assists in the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan.

T. Assists in the development, implementation, and achievement of company’s annual budget goals.

U. Assists in the development and implementation of company’s new business development plan.

V. Assists in the development and implementation of the company’s training goals.

W. Assists in the development and implementation of the company’s marketing plan.

X. Continuing education requirement: minimum of 20 hours per year.

Skills:
A. Minimum of three years of combined commercial landscape production and sales experience.

B. An associate’s degree (preferably in the Green Industry).

C. Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.

D. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

E. Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.

F. Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) software.

G. Proficient in or able to learn company estimating software.

H. Proficient in or able to learn www.gotoilawn.com software (and similar software and tools).

I. Possess excellent computer skills.

J. Proficient in typing and capable of typing 40 WPM with fewer than three mistakes.

K. Able to make effective presentations to potential clients.

L. Able to sell $500,000 to $1,000,000 of commercial maintenance projects annually.

M. Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
