Job Description

Job Description
Salary: $100,000 gross per annum

ApoQlar is transforming the practice, experience, learning, and sharing of medicine with VSI HoloMedicine®, a certified mixed reality platform leveraging Microsoft HoloLens hardware. Our mission is to enhance patient outcomes, empower clinical professionals, and educate the next generation of medical practitioners. The VSI HoloMedicine® is FDA and CE approved, active in 50 reference sites globally and a registered trademark in the EU, Singapore and the USA.

In a period of rapid growth and ongoing VC investments, we're seeking an ethical, experienced Business Director for the EMEA region. The primary objective of this position is to identify prominent key opinion leader surgeons, high-capacity surgical facilities, and academic institutions, securing their commitment through software subscriptions and proactive endorsements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the USA sales team to influence sales and strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate and foster professional relationships with key stakeholders in customer accounts across the Western United States, focusing on high-volume centers in California.
  • Lead negotiations and successfully close agreements with large customers, including academic centers.
  • Conduct research to identify prospective customers and explore new market opportunities, particularly in targeting and prioritizing key accounts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) users.
  • Deliver timely and effective solutions that align with clients' needs, optimizing the conversion rate from trial to long-term usage.
  • Stay informed about new product launches and actively engage with the sales team throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Provide direct input to the product design team and software engineering, advocating for enhancements to maximize the software's utility in clinical settings for key target specialties.
  • Offer constructive feedback to enhance the product experience, improve ease of use, and increase overall user engagement.
  • Contribute to guiding product launches in new or expanded use areas, such as the 'medical metaverse' for educational purposes among healthcare practitioners and MedTech industry partners.
  • Play a key role in steering the adoption and normalization of mixed reality applications, specifically focusing on 'intra-op' use cases in the USA.

Your Profile:

  1. Experience and Leadership:
    • Over 10 years of successful business development in the western USA, with a focus on the medical industry.
    • Strong understanding of hospitals, surgical settings, and medical academia.
    • Proven ability to develop and coach junior sales staff.
    • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in the EMEA hospital network.
  2. Soft Skills and Stakeholder Management:
    • High emotional intelligence and exceptional soft skills.
    • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders globally.
  3. Accountability and Compliance:
    • Emphasis on high accountability for leading indicators, focusing on correct behaviors and compliance.
    • Prioritization of healthcare and business compliance, setting standards for team interactions and procedures.
  4. Financial Accountability and Expense Control:
    • Develop scalable SOPs for financial vigilance during rapid growth.
    • Set clear spending expectations for accommodation, travel, meal allowances, and other expenses.
    • Ensure compliance with agreed spend limits, obtaining CCO sign-off for exceeding amounts.
  5. First 90 Days:
    • Lead a 'Sales sprint' to rapidly commercialize software v2.0.
    • Focus on activating as many user accounts as possible.
    • Conduct a review with CEO/CCO at the end of 90 days, determining further career progression.

Commission and Benefits:

  • This position qualifies for our sales commissions program for EU employees.
  • The program is subject to the company's discretion and undergoes annual revisions, with criteria set by the company.
  • The targeted 'On Top Earnings' (OTE) for this role is approximately $60k. Commissions in the first year are uncapped, providing a strong incentive for rapid business scaling.
  • Commissions are calculated at $1000.00 for each new clinical license sold, paid quarterly.
  • Starting from the second year, commission earnings may be subject to a cap, but the target OTE will remain unchanged.
  • A car allowance is not provided separately, as it is factored into the gross salary.
  • The company supplies a laptop, phone, HoloLens2 (or newer), and Meta Quest 3 (or newer) for professional use.

Additional details will be discussed with the candidate before any offer is extended.remote work
