As a member of the BakerRipley team, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking Community Schools department dedicated to operating high-quality charter schools to advance BakerRipley's impact in the Houston region.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent of School Administration is responsible for being a skilled manager and team leader with exemplary instructional and coaching acumen, supporting the technical skill building, continuous improvement, and impressive and demonstrated results of schools academically, culturally, and in human capital practices, and using data in making decisions, providing in-depth monitoring of regional performance metrics and producing compelling plans to motivate and inspire others to act and share investment in achieving operating outcomes.

This role will be instrumental in providing crucial coaching and development to Principals and Assistant Principals, empowering them to surpass district and campus goals and drive outstanding student outcomes. You will provide strategic support and accountability to rapidly improve student achievement outcomes and your leadership will be the catalyst for creating an educational environment that not only meets but exceed the expectations of excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Engaging with the district leadership team to develop a strategic plan to lead schools to outstanding student outcomes and prepare students for True Choice
  • Managing, developing, and leading Principals towards exceptional outcomes for students, families, and staff that results in excellent student achievement results and talent retention
  • Coaching Principals to strengthen leadership competencies in academics, school culture, people management and team leadership
  • Working with Principals and campus leadership teams to create goals and metrics that are ambitious and aligned with BakerRipley Community Schools’ vision and organizational direction
  • Spending significant time on campuses observing classroom instruction and campus culture to inform Principals and campus leadership teams of opportunities to improve student achievement and school culture
  • Providing targeted feedback on classroom instruction, lesson internalization and data meetings, observation and debrief cycles, and professional learning;
  • Organize and implement mechanisms to monitor progress towards short and long term goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of our high-quality instructional materials and facilitate principal and assistant principal capacity for strong implementation at their respective school campuses.
  • Coordinate and implement high-impact actions to provide strategic assistance and remove barriers in order to focus on strong instruction at all times
  • Collaborating with district leaders to assist in aligning campus and district functions essential to the success of the organization, including sitting on working groups, attending cross-functional meetings, reviewing guidelines to provide input, etc.
  • Planning, leading, and facilitating Principal meetings focused on professional development, collaboration, and communication of information essential to effective alignment to district goals
  • Ensuring compliance, alignment, and execution of key requirements for schools based on state and federal guidelines
  • Assisting with hiring and onboarding new Principals and Assistant Principals to ensure the best people are in position to lead each BakerRipley Community Schools campus
  • Facilitating annual planning processes, including master schedule development, with a cohort of school leaders in alignment with district goals;
  • Examining student learning and culture data to identify school priorities.
  • Championing our subpopulations such as emergent bilingual students, special education, students with 504 plans and more to ensure that they receive exceptional services and support, in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Additional duties as assigned.
