The District is recruiting for the position of Human Resources Technician I / II in the Human Resources Office. Please note that this is a temporary position expected to be 12 months in duration, not to exceed 06 / 30 / 2025.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provides technical and administrative support work in a variety of Human Resources functions, including benefits, onboarding / offboarding and other human resources programs.

Assists in the administration of employee benefits and leaves, retirement and health insurance programs; informs and advises employees regarding these programs : contacts insurance carriers and third-party administrators involved with the District's programs to resolve problems and answer employee questions.

Processes District personnel actions and benefits in District's Human Resources Information Systems or other computer software programs.

Conducts new employee orientations and offboarding and provides information regarding District programs and policies.

Maintains and updates personnel files, procedures, forms and records.

Prepares various special and periodic reports.

Maintains a current knowledge of District policies and procedures and applicable laws and updates information as required.

Assists in coordinating human resources projects and programs as needed, including recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, training and organizational development, and safety and wellness.

Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience :

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skill is :

Human Resources Technician I : Equivalent to three years of general clerical support or office assistant experience.

Human Resources Technician II : In addition to the above, one year of experience in personnel support work. Completion of some college level coursework in public personnel administration is desirable.
