Your Role:
As the Head Gelato Chef at Venchi, you will lead and develop a dynamic team to ensure all gelato meets our high standards of quality and taste. You will play a crucial role in training and mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. We seek a motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced, busy kitchen setting and is passionate about both gelato and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
· Team Leadership and Development: Train, mentor, and oversee gelato chefs to ensure they meet Venchi standards. Conduct regular knowledge checks and provide ongoing feedback to support team growth.
· Hands-On Gelato Production: Actively participate in the preparation, production, and presentation of gelato, maintaining the highest quality standards.
· Collaborative Stockroom Management: Assist store managers with stockroom organization, including working with Retail Operations Managers on the efficiency and organization of neighboring Venchi locations stockrooms.
· Support in Ingredient Management: Aid gelato chefs with ordering and managing gelato ingredients and milk orders as needed, ensuring top-quality products.
· Quality Assurance: Ensure gelato is consistently prepared, displayed, and sold to Venchi’s high standards. Review gelato production processes and ensure accuracy in production postings.
· Equipment Maintenance: Maintain gelato equipment to meet Health and Safety standards, ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed timely and correctly.
· Inventory and Stock Control: Work with the Store Managers to organize ordering, stock control, and rotation. Follow up on orders and adjust as necessary to minimize waste and optimize freshness.
· Problem Solving: Report issues to Store Manager and Retail Operations Managers promptly and find solutions to operational challenges.
· Sales Awareness: Stay informed about gelato sales within your shop to optimize production and inventory.
· Compliance and Documentation: Take ownership of the HACCP manual, manage temperature, and stock records, and ensure FIFO principles are followed.
· Delivery Management: Verify deliveries accurately, report discrepancies, and ensure efficient stock management.
· Standards and Guidelines Adherence: Follow and enforce gelato production standards and guidelines across all stores.
· Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and improve team practices, enhancing overall efficiency and product quality.
Key Skills Required:

· Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of Food and Safety regulations or certification preferred.

· Travel: Will be required to travel within the US when needed to support Venchi US. A valid US license is preferred.
