Job Summary
Provides support for the delivery of Ultrasound procedures, performing a variety of technical and patient care related duties enhancing the effective and efficient delivery of services.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of initial education and continued education as outlined in the hospital wide “Educational Guidelines”. Must be enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound Program.
Licensure
N/A
Certification
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support CPR within 60 days of hire date.
Experience
Must be a student enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound Program.
One year of experience in a clinical setting.
Computer/Typing/Math Skills
Basic keyboarding experience required.
Experience with the hospital’s information system would be beneficial.
Job Specific Requirements
Must possess good verbal/written communication skills.
Must be able to communicate basic technical and medical information with patients in a way that is understandable despite the patient’s educational background, age, medical condition, etc.
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to multi-task in a busy setting.
Ability to interact with patients, families, and members of the Health Care Team.
Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
Knowledge of Radiology information systems.
