JOB SUMMARY
The Amb/Endo/Minor RN:
is accountable for the quality of nursing care rendered to patients
assumes responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of patients.
directs and supervises nursing care for patients in the Amb/Endo/Minor setting.
Is responsible for determining the competency level of assistive personnel to whom she/he is delegating patient care
EDUCATION
Graduate of school of nursing.
Initial and continuing education as listed in educational guidelines.
LICENSURE
Currently licensed in the State of West Virginia
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in Endoscopy setting preferred.
CERTIFICATION
Healthcare BLS validation within 60 days of hire with revalidation per AHA guidelines.
ACLS validation within 1 year of employment with revalidation per AHA guidelines.
COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS
Must be or become familiar with the hospital computer system.
Minimal typing skills required.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Reasoning ability – self-starter, ability and availability to work in high stress area and in emergency situations.
Organization – proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources.
Manual Dexterity – Must be able to physically walk /access the entire hospital and surrounding medical buildings, must be able to position, move and transfer patients.
Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period; extended probationary period may be acceptable upon a case by case basis after consultation with Human Resources and the VP of Nursing Services.
Participates in all required educational and competency offerings related to safety, including patient safety activities. Agrees to abide by the Thomas Health System implementation plans for the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals. Provides feedback concerning any patient safety issues identified within the hospital.
