Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Banquet Manager to oversee our banquet operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant or food service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences. As the Banquet Manager, you will directly supervise the Banquet Servers, Banquet set up team, and Banquet Bartenders to ensure the proper set-up, tear-down, and completion of special events.Responsibilities:

EVERY DAY YOU WILL

· Attend and assist in all designated pre-event meetings

· Study BEO and independently ask pertinent questions to Banquet Coordinator, Chef, Office Staff, Membership Director, and Golf Staff at appropriate times leading up to event.

· Ensure that communication is constantly maintained between the Chef, the Banquet Event Sales Coordinator, and the client and their vendors/volunteers during the event

· Compile the floor maps, BEO details for execution, and assign sections and duties to the banquet and supporting staff

· Post upcoming events and table maps in server communication are and be forward thinking about reset at the end of the night

· Set up banquet area, tables and serving stations according to BEO and standards

· Greet members/guests and assist with seating or delegate an appropriately skilled staff member to do do

· Ensure that safety and sanitation codes are followed, and train staff to recognize improper guest behavior. Maintain IL Basset Certification roster for your department

· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front and back of house areas upstairs, develop and manage general opening and closing procedures as well as open and closing tasks related to each individual event

· Oversee the proper closing and putting away of all items taken out each day

· Meet with hosts/organizers 2-4 weeks prior to all events and confirm table set ups for dining and all other needs

· Interact with the host during the event to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments

· Monitor the activities of workers and guests and respond to questions, complaints, or comments that may arise

· Stay in communication with the chef and BOH staff before, during, and at the end of every event to ensure proper food items, guest counts, charges. Assist in service and execution from kitchen to table throughout the night

· Breakdown of the events: including managing of linen, operating equipment, decorations, candles, AV equipment, and furniture in an effort to prepare for the next event-RESET THE ROOMS

Requirements

YOU WILL BE GREAT AT FOREST HILLS COUNTRY CLUB IF

· You have a high school diploma or GED

· You have a high level of professionalism

· You have a minimum of 2 years of previous serving and bartending and 2 years’ experience in banquets/catering

· Experience in creating and managing staff schedules and labor according to budgets

You have strong oral communication skills

· You have working knowledge and creative skills in word processing programs and menu applications.

· General knowledge of contacts and billing

· Working knowledge of Cater-ease software a plus

· Must be a self-starter and work independently to prepare for events

· Strong leadership skills are a must
