Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking an Instructional Support Associate to support our School of Agriculture, Business, and Technology's Agricultural Engineering and Diesel Technology programs.
This is a Full-Time position in a growing Agricultural Engineering Technology department that offers Associate Degrees (A.A.S. and A.O.S.) in Diesel Technology and Agricultural Engineering Technology, as well as a Bachelor's of Technology (B.T.) in Technology Management.
The successful candidate will help in the day-to-day operation of laboratory operation/preparation and instructing laboratory sections.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Assisting faculty in the set up and break down of laboratory activities, ensuring that the laboratories function and appear in a professional manner including the clean-up and storage of laboratory materials.
Perform departmental safety inspections and recommendations.
Create laboratory aids.
Provide regular maintenance for laboratory equipment and training units.
Maintain the tool room inventory and make replacement recommendations.
Maintain the Agriculture Engineering reference library.
Maintain the inventory of supplies and consumables.
Maintain current MSDS references and other safety related documents.
Additional responsibilities include attending training sessions to remain current in the industry, teaching laboratory sections, assisting students on school activities, assisting in the upkeep of a school owned lodge, and assisting in recruiting activities that may include nights, weekends, and offsite locations.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Diesel Technology or closely related field
Basic computer skills
Commercial driver's license, or willing to work towards obtaining one
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be able to work with students in groups and individually.
Successful candidate should have fabrication skills for teaching aids, equipment operations/maintenance talents and be ability to fulfill other department needs.
