Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking Adjunct Instructors to support the 2024 EOP Summer Academy. This course is a group learning experience to assist students in maximizing their success. Through a variety of learning modes, this course will address reasons for going to college, staying in college, academic and personal coping skills, curriculum and career choice, factors affecting success in college and occupational settings, techniques for self-exploration, sources of personal/educational/career information, and decision-making skills as they relate to personal planning. The course instructor will communicate attendance and grades to the EOP Professional in a timely manner as it is imperative to ensuring the EOP scholars are on track to bridge the learning gap as this course intends.
The program runs from July 15th - August 10th.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Develop and deliver engaging sessions on career readiness topics, incorporating multimedia resources, industry professionals as guest speakers, and interactive activities.
Lead discussions on various aspects of career exploration, goal setting, and professional development, fostering critical thinking and constructive dialogue among participants.
Guide students in honing their research, analytical, and communication skills through assignments and projects focused on career pathways, job market trends, and workplace dynamics.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their career interests and articulate their aspirations.
Collaborate with fellow instructors and program coordinators to seamlessly integrate career readiness content into the overarching curriculum of the Career Prep Course.
Offer personalized feedback and guidance to students to help them refine their career goals, enhance their employability skills, and achieve their professional objectives.
