LifeGift is currently looking for a Family Engagement Specialist II

Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Family Engagement Specialist II and perform the following essential functions?

The FES II provides on-site responses to advocate for donation, and support families through the organ and tissue donation process.

On-Site Donation Advocacy and Donor Family Support:

  • Provide compassionate bereavement support and education to potential donor families.
  • Obtain necessary authorization and conduct risk assessments with appropriate family members.
  • Offer rapid on-site support at hospitals, collaborating closely with medical staff and LifeGift team.

Documentation and Ongoing Family Support:

  • Refer families to support programs and attend Donation After Circulatory Death procedures.
  • Follow up with families post-donation and collaborate for maximum donation opportunities.
  • Attend reviews, conduct in-services, and assist in training and meeting planning.

Admin and Quality Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of donor-related activities and participate in quality investigations.
  • Submit documentation for training events and adhere to organizational policies.
  • Ensure timely resolution of non-conformance issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support organizational strategic anchors and serve as a primary preceptor.
  • Meet authorization rate goals and fulfill duties as the Family Engagement Support (FES) lead.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for hospital development and process improvement projects.

Do you have the education and experience to be a Family Engagement Interpretive Specialist II?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in communication, health sciences, social work, nursing, counseling, related field, or significant equivalent experience in another Organ Procurement Organization (OPO).
  • Experience in healthcare with interpretive services, bereavement or pastoral counseling, or social work preferred.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

This role requires frequent travel and ability to commute to different hospital partners within our service area
