The Communications Division provides around-the-clock professional emergency support to WSP, state, local, and tribal agencies. Their main responsibilities are to answer 911 calls and initiate emergency services to meet the needs of the public and officers in the field.
Reporting to the Division Commander, a CO4 leads by example and manages the personnel, training, administration, supplies, equipment and operations of a 911 dispatch communications center. Primary responsibilities include: instill the values of “PRIDE” within the communications center; provide responsive, courteous and quality service; in coordination with HRD, support the Division’s hiring process; establish and maintain high standards of conduct; supervise and professionally develop CO3s; meet and comply with all designated certification standards; maintain professional competency in telecommunications; actively participate and create effective partnerships with all internal and external customers; support the policies, procedures and programs established by the Division; and manage employees (train, develop, evaluate, recognize, award, correct and/or discipline) and identify and resolve problems at the lowest level.
