The Human Resource Division (HRD) provides human resource services to supervisors, managers, and employees.

Duties

The Human Resource Consultant Assistant 2 (HRCA2) provides technical support to employees, supervisors and managers assisting with recruiting, hiring, promoting and retaining a qualified workforce; enhancing agency workforce performance and human resource management abilities.

Employee Services Support Team - Our new teammate will be able to:

  • Prepare and process personnel/payroll transactions for covered and non-covered bargaining unit positions and employees for assigned areas. Examples of duties include:
    • Prepare agency forms, correspondence and related materials as appropriate for personnel related actions.
    • Enter activities for assigned payroll actions in the Human Resource Management System and other agency tracking systems and logs.
    • Track future payroll actions and reports, setting appropriate follow up tasks and taking appropriate steps to complete necessary items.
    • Research and respond to questions regarding payroll actions following regulations, procedures, and processes in addition to Civil Service Rules and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Conducts new employee orientation and other various training pertaining to payroll actions, ensuring packets and notifications are completed.
  • Prepare Inter Office Communications and letters for all payroll activity such as transfers, promotions/demotions, special pay appointments terminations, and other personnel related actions.
  • Distribute correspondence and file documents in personnel, position, and job classification files as appropriate.
Employee Health & Safety Team - Our new teammate will be able to:
  • Provide Technical expertise as it relates to safety and wellness. Examples of duties include:
    • Assist with tracking days away from work (time loss) and days in limited duty status related to L&I claims.
    • Assist with completing L&I time loss check and sick leave buyback worksheet and submit to Budget and Fiscal for processing.
    • Assist with updating the online injury data center.
    • Assist with submission of annual OSHA reporting.
    • Assist with scheduling medical examinations.
  • Process Family Medical Leave (FMLA), Washington Family Leave (WFLA), Parental Leave, and Shared Leave. Tasks include:
    • Ensure requests are reviewed for completeness and follow-up with employees on the status of their requests.
    • Provides clerical support as it relates to safety and wellness utilizing knowledge of rules, polices, and regulations or procedures.
  • Perform file maintenance/retention for all employees' confidential medical files.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of senior level office support or administrative experience in a human resource office or similar settings.
