Paid Family and Medical Leave Communications Consultant The Paid Family and Medical Leave Communications Consultant supports ESD’s Leave and Care division, which manages the Paid Leave and WA Cares Fund programs. This position will provide communications planning and tactical support for portfolio projects and implement communications strategies to reach employer and stakeholder audiences. This position reports to the Leave and Care Communications manager, who is responsible for researching, planning, implementing and evaluation strategic communications and stakeholder plans for the division’s programs and portfolio. Unemployment Insurance Communications Consultant The Unemployment Insurance Communications Consultant supports ESD’s Unemployment Insurance Customer Service (UICS) division and the UI portfolio of projects. The position will also collaborate with their communications colleagues to develop comprehensive strategies for communicating with workers about ESD’s programs. This position reports to the UI Communications Manager, who is responsible for researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating strategic communications and stakeholder plans for the division’s programs and portfolio.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
You will use qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to research, plan, implement and execute communications plans for your respective teams, programs and projects. You will develop narratives, produce messaging and run campaigns to improve understanding and awareness of ESD’s programs. You will deliver clear, consistent and customer-centric communications that are essential to provide Washington’s diverse communities better access to our services. In this role, you will collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and efficacy in our deliverables. Some of what you'll enjoy doing: Develop and execute communications plans and content strategies. Work cross-divisionally to direct, plan, write and oversee the production of content across multiple platforms, channels and programs. Reinforce and help reimagine the agency’s communications, promoting more equitable access to – and understanding of – ESD’s programs. Promote economic resilience for individuals and communities across the state by reducing confusion for the customer through clear communication. Work with the communications team to identify creative and innovative techniques to be more precise, inclusive, plain-spoken and consistent.
