Summary
PlayCore's Southern Fulfillment Center in Fort Payne has a reputation for having engaged, productive employees, and we're looking for a Human Resources (HR) manager to continue that happy tradition. The ideal candidate will have extensive prior experience in all aspects of HR, including recruitment, compensation & analysis, metrics/KPI's, AAP/EEO audit and reporting, and employee relations, with a thorough understanding and experience in fair and consistent administration of HR policy and procedures.
The bulk of the role will involve supporting all areas of the company by managing the overall recruiting strategy, advising management on employee issues and documentation, managing employee relations issues, employee orientation and onboarding, project management, compensation analysis to include market research and internal alignment, training and development, monthly reporting, conflict resolution, and benefits administration There is also a great opportunity for developing and refining systems. We are eager to find an HR manager who easily connects with people and has a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of the workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures, using and improving HR existing and recommended systems and processes
  • Oversee overall recruitment strategy, and prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting effective orientation, onboarding, and training programs
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, training managers to coach and discipline employees, and counseling employees and supervisors
  • Monitor, analyze, and update compensation plans as necessary
  • Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision
  • Maintain HR KPI's and metrics
  • Complete weekly and monthly reporting to senior management and Corporate
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Responsible for being responsive to employee and business needs including information requests, compliance requests and addressing these in a timely fashion.
  • Project Management: completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions and seeing projects to completion.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and local area HR Association.
  • Assist in preparing and meeting budget
  • Maintains 5'S practices in his/hers work area including in equipment according to company procedures
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role with progressive responsibility in HR
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage and successfully complete several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Prior experience with an HRIS database, various insurance websites (i.e. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Guardian) required
  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements to various state and federal laws as they relate to benefits and Human Resource management
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and familiarity with Paycom payroll processing and NetSuite
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation in addition to conflict resolution and dealing with difficult clientele/issues
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience or any similar combination of education and experience required.
Minimum of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Travel
Some travel may be required but is minimal.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Must be able to supervise and lead a team.
