Summary

As a Product Specialist focusing on Playground Design and Layout, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing innovative playground solutions. You will collaborate closely with our sales, design, and engineering teams to translate client requirements into functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing playground designs. Your role will involve market and competitive analysis and project management with internal stakeholders to create playground designs for the catalog, promotions, and other marketing related activities. This role will leverage various digital platforms (AutoCAD, Inventor, 3ds Max Design and other tools) to generate and maintain 2D & 3D geometry and renderings of GameTime products and maintain same. The applicant should either come with these technical skills or demonstrate the aptitude and motivation to learn these technical skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Research market trends: Perform internal data analysis to segment GameTime playground units.
  2. Team Collaboration: Partner with the Marketing and Product Development team to prioritize projects, product releases and marketing campaigns.
  3. Conceptualization and Design: Utilize your creative vision and technical expertise to design and develop innovative and engaging playgrounds that promote active play, imagination, and learning.
  4. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgetary constraints, and translate these requirements into customized playground designs.
  5. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all playground designs comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations, including ASTM, CPSC, and ADA guidelines.
  6. Product Selection: Research and evaluate playground equipment, materials, and amenities to recommend the most suitable options based on client preferences, budget constraints, and project requirements. Lead the cross-functional team on the product offering decision-making process and deliver product offerings to the market
  7. Technical Drawings and Specifications: Design playgrounds and prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and renderings using CAD software to deliver product offerings to internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Internal Project Management: Lead the internal, cross-functional team from design conception to delivering product offerings to the market, including determining MSRP Pricing for select playground units.
  9. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and quality assurance checks during all stages of the design and installation process to ensure that playgrounds meet our stringent quality standards.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum requirement: Undergraduate degree or 2-year degree in Drafting / CAD or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.

Travel

There may be travel requirements between Chattanooga and Fort Payne, AL as well as training that may require travel to representatives’ office(s) throughout the country. The travel is approximately 10% of time.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

Proficient in or demonstrate aptitude/motivation to learn AutoCAD, Inventor, 3ds Max Design, Photoshop, and other design software tools.

An individual must have knowledge of 3D rendering software, 2D & 3D design and visualization, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software. As well as extensive experience with MS Windows 7, MS Windows 8 and/or MS Windows 10.
