Summary
Responsible for managing shipments, preparing documentation, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers or other destinations.
To be successful as a transportation coordinator you must have excellent attention to detail and communication skills. A great coordinator can successfully multitask on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping Coordination: Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring that shipments are dispatched on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
Monitor progress and coordination of shipments from various supplier locations.
Serve as a point of contact for internal departments, internal and external customers, and carriers regarding shipping-related inquiries, issues, and updates.
Prepare sales reports for senior management.
Keep a meticulous record of shipment information. Including preparing shipping documents, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
Work closely with other departments to streamline operations and optimize efficiency.
Work daily communicating with internal external customers, field representatives, and vendors.
Provide quotes to reps and maintain quote book.
Schedules and processes shipments for all modes of transportation and maintains all pertinent paperwork.
Coordinate and communicate the logistics of any PlayCore shipment controlled from Fort Payne
Reviews quotes/orders for freight charge accuracy.
Reconcile weekly carrier invoices and process for payables.
Shop, determine best choice carrier, and create documents.
Interacts with different departments to obtain dimensions, weight, ready to ship projections, and assigns carrier.
Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Proficiency in computer applications, including shipping software and Microsoft Office.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent

Requires the ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Must function effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to multitask
