META HOUSE is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Milwaukee, WI

Employee Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Department: Human Resources
Shift: 1st; very occasional evening hours; up to 1 WFH day per week
Schedule: Flexible schedule; Must be available to work core hours of 9am to 2pm
Total hours required per week: 40
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Position SummaryThe primary function of the Human Resources Coordinator (HR Coordinator) position is to support the human resources functions within the agency including recruiting new employees, maintaining personnel files including training documents, coordinating employee events and other personnel related matters. The HR Coordinator may also provide administrative support to the Executive team members, as needed
Position Responsibilities DescriptionHuman Resources responsibilities:
  • Posts open positions to appropriate job recruiting websites
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all applicants.
  • Coordinates recruiting and onboarding process including scheduling and conducting interviews, completing background and reference checks as well as other pre-employment screens including scheduling health screens with third party vendor.
  • Collection of new hire information including but not limited to immunization records, physicals, TB tests, and proof of education and/or required licenses.
  • Update and maintain talent acquisition portion of the HRIS.
  • Works in conjunction with Program Managers and/or the Development and Volunteer Specialist to onboard interns and volunteers.
  • Assist with HRIS data entry and maintenance.
  • Provides assistance with employee events including but not limited to employee appreciation and Kudos cup
Compliance responsibilities
  • Responsible for auditing personnel files to ensure compliance with current contracts, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Track employee vaccination and immunization records.
  • Collect and maintain employee attestations related to agency policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the maintaining application log of candidates and conduct initial screens to maintain flow of candidates.
Assist Executive Staff
  • Serve as back up to Executive Assistant, as needed and as assigned
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Serve as occasional back-up to Welcoming Specialist
Assist with agency events as requested
Serve as back up to cover reception area duties as needed including answering phones, greeting and logging clients and other visitors, notifying hosts of visitors’ arrival, distributing mail, and accepting deliveries
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five years experience as an administrative assistant or in other areas referenced above in the job duties
  • Driver’s license, good driving record, and auto insurance required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • All Meta House staff are required to provide proof of vaccination for MMR, Varicella, and annual flu shot.
  • Adherence to a non-smoking work environment Able to:
  • Tolerate occasional hot or cold days.
  • Alternate sitting or standing for extended periods of time at will.
  • Lift and up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and 40 pounds on occasion.
  • Ascend and descend stairs using feet and legs.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, squat, and kneel to perform essential functions.
  • Reach overhead, and at or below shoulder level.
  • Read and enter text or data into a computer or other system.
  • Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands.
  • Touch, pick, punch or otherwise working with fingers.
  • Hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds in order to communicate with clients and/or colleagues.
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • See clearly at approximately 20 inches or less including use of computers or tablet.
  • Visually identify clients and others for reasons including, but not limited to security, presence in the building.
  • Access to personal vehicle for work purposes preferred
  • Auto insurance coverage with the following limits: 100k per person bodily injury/300k per accident bodily injury limit/100k property damage liability preferred
