We are partnered with a full-service Tax, Accounting and Planning Firm located in New York, NY; which is looking for a self-motivated professional to join their team as Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid position and our client offers a very competitive benefits package with a dynamic team.

Essential Functions:

• Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, high net worth individuals, trusts, and tax-exempt entities
• Developing business and personal tax planning strategies
• Preparing financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits
• Handling payroll tax preparation and review
• Reconciling clients' books and records with supporting documents
• Responding to federal, state, and local tax notices and assisting with audits and examinations
• Conducting research on federal, state, and international tax issues
• Providing expert tax advice to clients
• Identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients
• Offering technical GAAP guidance and financial support to staff accountants
• Mentoring junior team members to help them grow in their roles

Job Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation with at least 1 years in public accounting
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of federal and state tax returns
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office. Competency in Lacerte tax software a plus
• Deadline oriented with the ability to complete assigned tasks independently and in a team environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Regular and consistent attendance, OT may be required during peak periods

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 Depending on experience competitive benefits
