The Laboratory Manager plays a vital role for our client, ensuring compliance with CLIA and COLA requirements across their laboratory operations. This position involves providing oversight of lab functions, producing necessary compliance documentation, and managing daily laboratory production and instrumentation.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Manage CLIA and COLA compliance requirements for all laboratories under our client's operations.
- Prepare and maintain essential reports including Monthly QC, Weekly and Monthly Maintenance, API proficiency testing, Calibration (linearity), corrective action plans, and technician competency documentation.
- Participate in CLIA and COLA inspections as the laboratory representative.
- Oversee day-to-day lab operations, assist with running instruments, and ensure timely processing of all lab submissions with a focus on same-day turnaround when possible.
- Develop and execute validation studies for new laboratory tests using EP Evaluator software.
- Review and update existing lab protocols to maintain regulatory compliance, provide training for lab technicians, and document equipment usage and training records.
- Analyze data and recommend cost-control policies regarding lab operations, inventory, and staffing levels.
- Communicate regularly with the Lab Director to ensure timely approval and sign-off on all required compliance documentation.
- Oversee laboratory safety and maintain adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including documentation and remediation of non-compliance issues.
- Manage lab personnel schedules, monitor instrument performance, and ensure timely release of lab results to clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.
- State licensure required where applicable.
