Job Summary
We are seeking a Legal Analyst to provide legal administrative and support services, including legal documentation, case tracking, records research, contract support, correspondence, document management, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in preparing responses to foreclosure actions, bankruptcy actions, and other process-oriented legal responses.
- Tracking status of foreclosure cases and Sheriffs sales involving the organization.
- Preparing a variety of legal documents necessary for the organization, such as contracts, mortgage releases/lien releases, reports, budgets, and internal communication.
- Sorting, analyzing and distributing mail within the legal department.
- Assisting Legal Counsel with word processing, filing and document transmittal services.
- Assisting Legal Counsel in transmitting legal correspondence to clients, customers, outside counsel and court officials by electronic filing, mail, fax or messenger.
- Managing special projects as assigned, including ensuring project progress, coordinating meetings, and maintaining organized project and case files.
- Assisting Legal Counsel in reviewing and making necessary data entry updates to SharePoint contracts database.
- Performing records research, legal research, checking legal forms for accuracy, preparing legal documents, preparing drafts of contracts, and preparing contract amendments.
- Performing other tasks as needed and assigned.
Required Skills
- Legal administrative or legal support experience.
- Experience preparing and maintaining legal documents.
- Experience with document filing and records management.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct records and legal research.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized case/project files.
- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting attorneys or a legal department.
- Experience with foreclosure or bankruptcy matters.
- Experience with mortgage, lien, or real estate-related legal documentation.
