Controller Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and monthly close processes.
- Manage job costing activities, including WIP schedules, project cost tracking, and analysis of over/under billings across multiple active projects.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Administer employee benefits programs, support HR-related processes, and review union and certified payroll reporting.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements while continuously improving financial systems and processes.
Controller Qualifications
- 5 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in construction or job cost accounting environments preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in WIP reporting, job costing, and managing financials across multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience overseeing in-house payroll, benefits administration, and multi-state or union-related reporting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Collaborative, humble, and proactive mindset with a willingness to support a small team in a hands-on, all-in work environment.
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
