Compensation Analyst
Our client is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst to lead and support a wide range of compensation initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with HR and business leadership to design, evaluate, and optimize compensation programs, ensuring alignment with market trends, regulatory requirements, and organizational strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful recommendations.
This role is on-site in Houston, Texas.
Compensation Analyst Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for compensation programs, advising HR and leadership on job evaluations, salary structures, pay decisions, and overall compensation strategy.
- Lead the annual compensation cycle, including merit increases, market adjustments, promotions, and incentive calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Conduct in-depth market benchmarking, internal equity analyses, and compensation studies to inform data-driven decisions.
- Support executive compensation efforts, including preparing materials and contributing to Compensation Discussion & Analysis (CD&A) documentation for regulatory filings.
- Develop and maintain compensation models, tools, and dashboards to analyze trends, assess risks, and provide actionable insights.
- Evaluate financial implications of compensation changes, program updates, and organizational shifts, presenting findings to leadership.
- Manage job architecture frameworks, including job leveling, job descriptions, and market pricing to ensure consistency and governance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including wage and hour laws and pay transparency requirements.
- Partner with HR Business Partners on compensation-related matters tied to hiring, retention, and internal mobility strategies.
- Support audits, internal controls reviews, and reporting requirements related to compensation programs.
- Contribute to HR systems initiatives, including data integrations, system implementations, and process improvements.
- Maintain documentation, guidelines, and procedures to support compensation program governance and consistency.
- Compensation Analyst QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification strongly preferred.
- 8 years of progressive compensation experience within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting executive compensation programs and preparing CD&A documentation for regulatory filings.
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, including job evaluation, market pricing, pay structures, and incentive design.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with compensation systems and data analysis tools.
- Experience in a publicly traded company environment preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present compensation concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Eligibility to meet applicable regulatory requirements related to the role.
Salary: $124K-$150K/year. (DOE)
