This role is on-site in Gresham, Oregon.
Controller Responsibilities
- Lead and stabilize accounting operations, addressing audit backlog and identifying and correcting historical discrepancies.
- Oversee grant accounting processes, including billing, reporting, and compliance across multiple funding sources.
- Manage and mentor a junior accounting team, providing training, guidance, and oversight of daily activities.
- Review and approve key financial activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable batches.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls within the accounting function.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong background in nonprofit and grant accounting, with a solid understanding of GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with MIP accounting software.
- Proven ability to navigate audits, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to train and develop junior staff.
