The University of South Alabama’s Grounds department is seeking to hire an Athletic Field Technician I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
- Assists in performing maintenance on athletic fields and facilities to include mowing, edging, raking, weed eating, and trimming and other tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Assists in the preparation of playing surfaces.
- Operates equipment such as tractor, riding lawn mower to include reel-type multiple-gang equipment, line trimmer, blower, edger, spreader, sprayer, and other equipment required for proper field maintenance.
- Assists in maintaining equipment and tools.
- Assists in keeping facilities clean.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, paints playing fields according to sport specifications.
- Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Works related events which will require nights and weekends.
- Uses a university vehicle to travel to and from work sites.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional overtime hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
