Our client is a company in the Madison area looking for an Accounting Manager. Our client is looking for someone with 5 years of accounting experience, strong leadership skills and someone who is a go-getter!
The salary range for this position is $80k-100k
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Prepare and review daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Calculate and process monthly commissions.
- Monitor and manage tax liabilities, ensuring timely filings and payments, including sales and use tax across multiple states.
- Track and reconcile company credit card activity, process payments on related accounts.
- Perform account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to confirm accuracy.
- Work with internal teams to support accounting audits and compliance reviews.
- Manage preparation and submission of tax documents such as 1099s, property tax returns, and required filings.
- Maintain job costing entries and prepare customer invoices, including prepaid discounts when applicable.
- Prepare monthly general ledger entries and support month-end close activities.
- Monitor bank balances, initiate wire transfers, and complete regular reconciliations.
- Respond to customer requests for waivers, certificates of insurance (COIs), and related documentation.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports and process payments for a related joint venture.
- Oversee preparation of annual financial statements and distributions for real estate partnerships.
- Provide support with special projects and additional accounting tasks as needed.
The Accounting Manager will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detailed orientated, and a problem solver.
