Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot precision measurement equipment, gauges, and CMMs.
- Perform detailed dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology tools.
- Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
- Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support manufacturing and quality control teams with metrology expertise and data interpretation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain metrology procedures and best practices in accordance with industry standards.
- Conduct Gage R&R studies and other Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to assess measurement uncertainty.
- Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficient understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating and calibrating a wide range of precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages).
- Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including operation, setup, and basic programming.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report measurement data using metrology software and standard office applications.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and calibration standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD software for model interpretation and feature extraction.
- Involvement in metrology process improvement initiatives or procedure development.
