Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Train and mentor shipping and receiving team members, providing guidance and support.
- Manage inventory levels within the shipping and receiving areas, conducting regular cycle counts.
- Coordinate with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments, negotiating rates and scheduling pickups.
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented, labeled, and prepared according to company and carrier standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving department.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to incoming or outgoing goods.
- Implement and improve shipping and receiving processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and shipping/receiving systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, and logistics.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, and operate material handling equipment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Basic understanding of inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP)
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation
