Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review customer Requests for Quote (RFQs), specifications, and blueprints.
- Analyze technical requirements and collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing to determine manufacturing feasibility and costs.
- Calculate accurate material, labor, and overhead costs using established pricing models and supplier quotes.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive, competitive, and timely price quotations to customers.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, answer questions, and negotiate quote terms.
- Maintain and update quoting databases, pricing tools, and customer information systems.
- Track quote status, follow up on pending proposals, and provide regular reporting on quoting activities.
- 2 years of experience in a quoting or estimating role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing costing principles, including material, labor, and overhead calculations.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quoting software; advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for interpreting technical drawings.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, macros) for complex cost modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with specific ERP modules for quoting or sales order processing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
