The Encompass Group is partnering with a highly respected, employee-focused architecture and design firm that is continuing to grow across Texas. Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Architecture Director to lead the Dallas office. This leadership role will partner closely with executive leadership to shape the strategic direction of the architecture practice while mentoring staff, overseeing project delivery, and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop architectural staff through project execution, coaching, and professional growth.
- Provide guidance on complex project challenges while promoting best practices and quality standards.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new architectural team members.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to manage staffing, project scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple projects.
- Forecast workload and staffing needs to ensure project teams are properly resourced.
- Work alongside executive leadership to implement and enhance architectural standards, quality assurance initiatives, and firmwide procedures.
- Ensure project teams consistently follow established workflows while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Organize and lead task groups focused on research, innovation, and process development.
- Review and approve timesheets, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Ensure staff have the tools, resources, and support necessary to deliver exceptional client service.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials
- Professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university
- Registered Architect (required)
- LEED AP designation preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of professional architectural experience on commercial projects
- Proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring architectural teams
- Experience overseeing multidisciplinary project teams, including Architecture, Interior Design, and Construction Administration
- Experience within K-12, Higher Education, Commercial, or Automotive sectors is preferred
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, staffing, and resource planning
Technical Skills
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft Office
- Vantagepoint experience preferred
