Are you an experienced Legal Assistant with a background in Intellectual Property law? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support attorneys in trademark prosecution, patent filings, and IP litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative legal team where you'll play a key role in managing complex intellectual property matters from start to finish.
What You'll Do!
Trademark Support
- Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications and maintenance filings through TEAS.
- Manage trademark docketing and monitor critical deadlines.
- Assist with office actions, specimen collection, and coordination with foreign counsel.
- Maintain organized trademark portfolios and client files.
Patent Support
- Assist attorneys with U.S. patent filings, including provisional and non-provisional applications, IDS submissions, declarations, assignments, and formal drawings.
- File documents through the USPTO Patent Center.
- Track patent deadlines and coordinate communications with clients, inventors, and international associates.
IP Litigation Support
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other federal court documents.
- Draft and proofread Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
- Support discovery, document production, depositions, subpoenas, and trial preparation.
- Organize case files, exhibits, and litigation documents.
General Legal Support
- Maintain electronic and physical legal files.
- Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and memoranda.
- Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, docket deadlines, billing support, and client communications.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of legal assistant experience, preferably supporting Intellectual Property law.
- Experience with USPTO filing systems, including TEAS and Patent Center/EFS.
- Familiarity with PACER/ECF federal court filings.
- Experience preparing and proofreading Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; experience with IP docketing software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
