About the Role:
As a Bankruptcy Paralegal, you will support attorneys handling a large portfolio of Chapter 13 cases from initial filing through case resolution. You will be responsible for drafting core pleadings, managing case documentation, and coordinating with courts and trustees to keep matters on track. Your attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive, time-sensitive tasks will directly impact case outcomes and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft simple motions, objections, and related pleadings for Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters.
- Prepare, organise, and maintain case files and documentation for a high-volume caseload.
- Review court notices, trustee communications, and case updates, flagging issues for attorney review.
- File documents with the court electronically and ensure all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
- Coordinate with clients, courts, and trustees to gather information and provide status updates as directed by attorneys.
- Assist with preparing hearing calendars, case summaries, and supporting materials for attorney appearances.
- Track case milestones and maintain accurate case management system entries to support efficient workflow.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume legal environment, ideally within bankruptcy.
- Proficiency in drafting simple motions, objections, and other standard pleadings for Chapter 13 cases.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and proofread legal documents accurately.
- Solid understanding of basic bankruptcy procedures, timelines, and court filing practices.
- Competence with legal case management systems and electronic court filing platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritise tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys and legal stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience supporting Chapter 7 or other bankruptcy chapters in addition to Chapter 13.
- Familiarity with local bankruptcy court rules and trustee practices in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience working directly with clients in a bankruptcy or financial services context.

Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
