About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing property management company in Madison to hire an Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing communities. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Property Manager who is ready to step into more of a leadership role and help support onsite teams across multiple properties.
The company is looking for someone who brings strong energy, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. The ideal candidate has previous Property Manager experience along with LIHTC or affordable housing exposure and is excited about helping lead teams, solve problems, and create a strong resident experience across the portfolio.
This is a fully onsite position working closely with property staff and leadership throughout the Madison area.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Oversee daily operations across multiple affordable housing communities
• Support and help lead onsite Property Managers and Leasing teams
• Partner with site teams to maintain occupancy, resident satisfaction, and overall property performance
• Assist with operational challenges, resident concerns, and property-level problem solving
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure communities are operating smoothly and maintained well
• Support hiring, training, coaching, and development of onsite staff
• Help ensure compliance with LIHTC / Section 42 and Fair Housing requirements
• Work closely with leadership on property performance, team support, and operational goals

• At least 2 years of experience in a Property Manager-level role
• LIHTC / affordable housing experience or previous exposure required
• Someone who is motivated, adaptable, and ready for a challenge
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to support onsite teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and properties in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working within property management operations and resident relations
