About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and team-oriented Medical Physicist to join a community-based cancer center located in Webster, TX. The position offers the opportunity to work within a regional network of 10 advanced cancer centers across the Gulf Coast, providing high-quality radiation therapy and HDR procedures.
As a Medical Physicist, you will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of board-certified physicists, radiation oncologists, and dosimetrists, all sharing a unified mission to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the full range of on-site clinical medical physics support, including HDR.
- Participate in physics support across the Gulf Coast region (occasional travel required).
- Calibrate and maintain dosimetric and treatment planning equipment, including ionization chambers, diodes, and computerized water phantom systems.
- Perform QA and safety checks on radiation equipment, including linear accelerators and HDR systems.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and technical staff to ensure accurate treatment planning and patient safety.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and radiation safety initiatives.
Facilities and Equipment
- Network includes 10 linacs (TrueBeam and C-Series) and 4 Elekta HDR systems.
- Treatment planning and data systems: Eclipse TPS, ARIA ROIS, RadCalc, and SNC SunCHECK.
- QA tools: IC Profiler, MapCheck2, SNC Routine, 3D Scanning System.
- The team currently treats approximately 250 patients per day across the Gulf Coast region.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited institution.
- ABR Certification (or completion of a CAMPEP-approved residency and board eligibility).
- Texas Medical Board license (or ability to obtain before start).
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred:
- Clinical experience in radiation oncology and HDR therapy.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience with Eclipse TPS and ARIA ROIS systems.
