Our client is seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Generalist to support the execution of HR initiatives and programs across the organization. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting employee engagement, and ensuring smooth delivery of core HR operations.
Role Overview
The HR Generalist will work closely with HR leadership to implement HR programs, support employees and managers, and maintain efficient HR processes. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute core HR processes including onboarding, orientation, exit management, and leave administration
- Support employee relations by providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace practices
- Partner with hiring managers and talent acquisition teams to support recruitment and workforce planning
- Maintain HR systems (e.g., timekeeping and payroll support) and ensure data accuracy
- Assist in administering employee engagement and retention programs
- Support workplace compliance activities, including OSHA reporting and regulatory requirements
- Participate in initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and a positive work culture
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to drive local and regional HR strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in HR or related roles
- Strong working knowledge of HR processes and employment practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in distribution, logistics, or food service environments
- Exposure to union environments, including contract administration and grievance handling
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or other relevant languages) is a plus
- HR certifications such as PHR or SPHR
- Experience with HR systems such as Workday
